Quick Dialup, EMAIL and NEWS
Configuration
These parameters apply to customers who have purchased dialup with St. Louis Internet. If your Internet connection is with another provider you must use their Dialup and News configuration, and in some cases their specification for the EMAIL SMTP Server name.
DIALUP
For local St. Louis access choose from one of the following telephone
numbers. All numbers provide the same speed and level of service:
- 314-213-7700 (St. Louis)
- 314-244-0005 (St. Louis)
- 314-802-0623 (St. Louis)
- 636-940-6910 (St. Charles/St. Peters)
- 636-980-2410 (O'Fallon)

You have already received your EMAIL address, login name and password. Make sure you enter your POP3 login name and password in lower-case. Below is the additional information you need to specify in order to send and receive EMAIL:
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail1.st-louis.net
(for existing accounts prior to July, 2000 use the POP3 server: mail.st-louis.net)
Outgoing (SMTP) Server: smtp1.st-louis.net
NEWS
You will need a logon name and password in order to access our NEWS service. The password is the same as your dialup password. Your logon name is part of your dialup logon name, without the "@world.net" on the end. Example:
If your dialup logon name is "henry8@world.net" your NEWS server logon name is: "henry8@starnews.com"
The address of the NEWS server is: news.st-louis.net
